Asia Cup 2018 Match Schedule

One of the most anticipated events in the cricketing world, the 2018 Asia Cup is going to be a One Day International (ODI) tournament is scheduled in United Arab Emirates in the month of September 2018. ACC Asia Cup 2018 Match Schedule is going to be the 14th edition of the tournament and UAE is going to host the event for the third time. India will defend the title this year.

Initially this tournament was scheduled in India. Due to political unrest in Pakistan the event was moved to United Arab Emirates. One of the main reason for moving the tournament was political tensions in India and Pakistan.

Asia Cup 2018 Match Schedule

In the year 2015, Asian Cricket Council (ACC) met in Singapore where Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary confirmed that 2018 edition would be held in India. However, in August 2017, the government of India cleared the board for hosting the event as AC under-19 Asia Cup was moved to Malaysia. The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan asked BCCI and ACC to consider Abu Dhabi as a host for this event in order to ensure participation of Pakistan.

Pakistan were scheduled to host the 2018 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup ahead of the tournament in April with the announcement that the Asia Cup would be played in the United Arab Emirates, the Emerging Teams Asia Cup was moved to December 2018, with Sri Lanka scheduled to co-host the tournament with Pakistan.

2018 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup was scheduled in Pakistan for the month of April ahead of this tournament but the Emerging Teams Asia Cup was moved to December 2018, with Sri Lanka scheduled to co-host the tournament with Pakistan.
